雅伎著students participate in MICHELIN® Guide Vancouver announcement

雅伎著 (VCC) was pleased to participate in the announcement for the , the latest expansion of the . The announcement was made at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (PICA) in front of local media and VIPs.

To showcase the next generation of culinary talent, students from the PICA and VCCs Culinary Arts program collaborated on designing, preparing, and presenting a unique menu at todays reception to celebrate the launch of the MICHELIN Guide Vancouver. The students were guided by Chef Matthew Kammerer, Executive Chef of the two Michelin-starred and Michelin Green Star restaurant The Harbor House Inn in Mendocino County.

Thank you to Michelin and Destination Vancouver for inviting 雅伎著to join in todays announcement, said Ajay Patel, 雅伎著President and CEO. I am so proud of 雅伎著instructors Chef Hamid Salimian, Chef Karen Gin, and VCCs culinary students for preparing todays food with the guidance of Chef Matt Kammerer. 雅伎著is committed to academic innovation that is responsive to student and employer needs. With the introduction of the MICHELIN Guide Vancouver, 雅伎著students, who already benefit from VCCs excellent partnerships with the industry, will now have the opportunity to work in Michelin-starred environments as well. 

What an exciting opportunity for students to do their practicums and early career training in Michelin starred kitchens right in their own backyard, added 雅伎著instructor, Chef Hamid Salimian. Vancouver has a dynamic and creative voice in sustainable farm (or sea) to table cuisine. Today is about Michelin's acknowledgement of what we have known for a long time, and now Vancouver's best-kept-secret as a world-class city for sustainable cuisine is no longer a secret. It is a very exciting day for young chefs in BC.
